Preserving Arvin

The year 1959 was a sort of transition year setting the stage for moving big time into the world of portable transistor radios.  At the same time, it was a year of transition away from some of the really cool and really bright and modern colors that characterized the mid and late 1950s --- a really neat period for collectors of wonderfully colored radios.

Among things we've been unable to locate are credible and official lists and price lists that are a solid basis for assembling a collection of data.

We have a few scans of documents, but our best additions to this particular page at this time are the photographs of actual sets below.

One interesting note is that the Model 3586 that was marketed a year earlier as a 10-tube set is show as a 9-tube set in the magazine ad below!
